Gulick Rd Trail Head (42.724168,-77.467531) – Wesley Hill Nature Preserve – Directions

Directions to the Gulick Rd parking area for Wesley Hill Nature Preserve.  Click here if you are going to the Wesley Rd parking area.

A word of caution – do not try to access Wesley Road from down on East Lake Road, in spite of what your gps might tell you. The road is closed from East Lake Rd up to the Wesley Road Trail Head. If you try it you will readily see why.

From Honeoye: take route 20A east through Honeoye to East Lake Road (CR 33). Turn right onto East Lake Road. (If coming from Bristol or points east, its a left onto East Lake Road).  Take the first left, staying on CR 33, then the first right onto Pinewood Hill which becomes Gulick Road. Wesley parking lot is 4.3 miles down Gulick, on the right side.

From Springwater: Head north on Rt 15A toward Hemlock.  Just before Hemlock, turn right on Rt 20A.  Follow Rt 20A east through Honeoye to East Lake Road (CR 33). Turn right onto East Lake Road. (If coming from Bristol or points east, its a left onto East Lake Road).  Take the first left, staying on CR 33, then the first right onto Pinewood Hill which becomes Gulick Road. Wesley parking lot is 4.3 miles down Gulick, on the right side.

From Naples: From the southern end of Naples, head west on Co Rd 36. Follow Co Rd 36 for 1.2 to the first right turn on Gulick Rd.  Follow Gulick for 7.5 miles. Wesley parking lot is on the left side.

Northwest parking – Canadice Lake (42.7394625,-77.5418878) – Directions

The northwest parking area for Canadice Lake is off Purcell Hill Road west of Canadice Lake Road. Please note that this is not a boat launch.

From Rochester and the I390 Exit 11 Park and Ride: From Rochester, take I390 south to Exit 11.  Turn left (south) on Rt 15.  The park and ride is on the right side.  From the park and ride, turn right onto Rt 15 and then an immediate left onto Rt 251 toward Rush.  After 1.3 miles, bear right onto 15A.  Follow 15A through Rush, Lima and Hemlock for 18.5 miles.  Turn left on Purcell Hill Road for 1.2 miles.  At the bottom of the hill, the parking area is on the right before you cross the Canadice outlet.

From Springwater: Take 15A north from the Rt15 intersection for 7.6 miles.  Turn right on Purcell Hill Road for 1.2 miles.  At the bottom of the hill, the parking area is on the right before you cross the Canadice outlet.

From Honeoye:  From Rt 20A, turn south on CR 37.  After 3.7 miles turn right at the white church in Canadice.  Stay straight onto Burch Hill Rd when CR37 bears to the left.  Follow Burch Hill Rd down to Canadice Lake Rd.  Turn right (north) on Canadice Rd for 0.7 miles, then left on Purcell Hill.  The parking area is on the left in 0.2 miles.

Stid Hill WMA (42.765404,-77.406227) – Directions

Stid Hill WMA is a DEC managed property consisting of two tracts in Bristol and South Bristol. These directions are to the northern parking area.

From Honeoye: Take US-20A East to Bristol Valley.  Turn right on NY-64 S.  Follow NY-64 for 4.8 miles.  The parking area is on the left.

From Naples: Take NY-21 North to the intersection with NY-64 just before S. Bristol.  Stay left onto NY-64.  The parking area is 4.8 miles north on the right (1.4 miles past the ski area).

NOTE:  NY 64 is closed July 20-27, 2014 just south of Bristol Mt for road work..  To avoid construction follow these alternate directions:  From Naples: Take NY-21 north staying right at the intersection with NY-64 to stay on NY-21.  4.5 miles past that intersection, turn left on Dugway Rd.  It is 3.2 miles over the hill to NY-21.  Turn left on NY-21 S.  The parking area is on the left 1.8 miles south of Dugway Rd.

From Rochester: Take 490 East to the Victor Exit.  Follow NY-96 into Victor.  At the road sign for Bristol Mountain Ski Area, turn right on Maple Ave (NY-444) through Bloomfield (4 miles).  Turn left on US-20 for 1.2 miles and right onto NY 64.  The parking area is on the left 8.5 miles south of US-20.

From Springwater: Google recommends going north to Honeoye, saying that is 6 minutes faster than going south through Wayland and Naples.  Take 15A north.  Just before Hemlock, turn right on 20A to Honeoye. Continue on US-20A East to Bristol Valley.  Turn right on NY-64 S.  Follow NY-64 for 4.8 miles.  The parking area is on the left.

From Wayland: Google recommends going east to Naples, saying that is 6 minutes faster than going north through Springwater and Honeoye.  NOTE:  NY 64 is closed July 20-27, 2014 just south of Bristol Mt for road work..  To avoid construction go north on NY-15 and through Springwater and then follow 15A.  Just before Hemlock, turn right on 20A to Honeoye. Continue on US-20A East to Bristol Valley.  Turn right on NY-64 S.  Follow NY-64 for 4.8 miles.  The parking area is on the left.

Brink Hill Parking and Hi Tor entrance – (42.617645, -77.334390)

Please note that the Hi Tor Entrance on Brink Hill with room for head-in parking off of the road, is about 0.4miles south-west of Access Point 7 on the Finger Lakes Trail Bristol Branch map B2.

From Springwater and Wayland: Head east on NY 21 from Rt 15 in Wayland. Turn left in North Cohocton staying on NY 21 heading to Naples.  In Naples, when NY 21 turns left, you should turn right onto NY 53 South.  After 1.3 miles turn left on Ontario County Route 21 (Italy Valley Rd). At the Yates County line, turn left onto Bassett Rd. After 1.6 miles turn left onto Brink Rd.  The parking area is 1 miles up Bassett Rd on the left.

From Honeoye and Naples: Follow County Road 36 south from Honeoye into Naples. Turn right onto NY 21 S (Main St).  Continue straight onto NY 53 South. After 1.3 miles turn left on Ontario County Route 21 (Italy Valley Rd). At the Yates County line, turn left onto Bassett Rd. After 1.6 miles turn left onto Brink Rd.  The parking area is 1 miles up Bassett Rd on the left.
