Here are some interesting websites for plotting your hike.  I will add more as I think of them or become aware of them.

Map My Hike – You can create and store your hikes, and record when you walk them.  Also, look for other maps.

Elevation Profiler – A testbed for plotting a path and drawing the elevation view.

If you have a GPS, you can experiment with these sites for uploading your routes.
