Hikes led by Springwater Trails are generally held on Sunday afternoons and appear in this calendar in green.

On Saturday May 10th, Victor Hiking Trails will lead a hike on the trails at Chimney Bluffs State Park, east of Sodus Bay (northeastern Wayne County). The hike will be 3 to 4 miles on varying terrain. Bring a bag lunch and something to drink. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy hiking boots. Meet in the rear parking lot at Victor Town Hall, 85 East Main Street at 9:00 a.m. to carpool to the trail head. Or meet at the park in the large parking lot off Garner Road at 10:00 a.m. Further details and a Map at www.victorhikingtrails.org
Additional details can also be found by calling 585-234-8226, the Victor Hiking Trails (VHT) recorded message – activity hotline.
VHT hikes are open to all hikers, no need to be a member to hike. For Springwater Trails hikers who want a picturesque and unique hike in Chimney Bluffs S.P. this is your chance. Join the carpool at Victor Town Hall at 9:00AM, and hike with VHT. This is one of a number of hikes that VHT & S/T hikers will share together in 2014.
Looking for a hike on Saturday June 7, 2014? Well, our friends at Victor Hiking Trails (VHT) have three separate hikes at three separate times on this Saturday morning & afternoon. All are scheduled at Fishers Fire Station. A quick on site breakfast snack and a pizza lunch are part of the plans. Hikers can hike any one, two or three of the hikes. More details can be gleaned from the Victor Hiking Trails website.

Take a hike up the creek
Victor Hiking Trails will lead a creek walk on Saturday, July 12th up and down Conklin Creek, located in the High Tor Wildlife Management Area, near the village of Naples. This is not an easy hike and it is not recommended for small children.
You will be walking in the creek, so bring your water shoes, a bag lunch and something to drink. You may also want to bring dry socks and hiking boots if the group decides to hike other areas of the park.
Meet at Victor Town Hall rear parking lot, 85 East Main Street, at 9:00 a.m. to car pool to the trailhead. Or meet the group at the parking lot on Rt. 245, just west of Parish Hill Road, at 9:50 a.m. The group will return to Victor around 3:00 p.m. Additional information is available at 585-234-8226 or www.victorhikingtrails.org.
On Saturday November 8, 2014, Victor Hiking Trails (VHT) will lead a hike at MaryFrances Bluebird Haven Park and Monkey Run Trails. The hike will start at the “Butler Cottage”, 235 Victor-Egypt Road (County Road 9) at 9:00 a.m. There is a large parking area by the house, set back from the road. The hike will be around the 40-acre park and is about one mile of easy walking through meadow and woods. The group will then walk over to Monkey Run Trails for about 2 miles of easy walking through woods. Wear good walking shoes, bring something to drink and a snack.
Note that for this “local hike” in Victor, VHT will NOT meet at the Victor Town Hall at 9:00AM as is usually the case for monthly VHT hikes, but instead will met directly at MaryFrances Bluebird Haven Park at 9:00 a.m.
Also Note: Bluebirds will likely have already left the area with the change of season/weather.
This is a hike that eventually Springwater Trails (S/T) will have on our hike calendar, just not sure when. If you want to get a jump on hiking this area, join VHT for this autumn hike. Check the VHT website for details/changes/etc.
FYI – This hike is the VHT monthly hike for October. As a norm VHT leads one hike per month on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at varying locations; no need to be a member of VHT to attend VHT hikes. Some of the VHT hike locales in 2014 were in the “home range” of Springwater Trails (some in the Naples area). The Saturday Dec 13,2014 VHT hike will be held at Dryer Rd Park & Fort Hill in Victor, a locale which Springwater Trails hiked Oct 21,2012 as some S/T hikers no doubt recall as the “Ganondagan hike”. The VHT December hike lends a varied opportunity for S/T hikers to join a VHT hike at this locale and this time without colorful leaves that we enjoyed on 10/21/2012.
On Saturday, March 14th, Victor Hiking Trails will lead a hike on the trails at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area. They have created additional trails, so plan on spending 2—3 hours on the trails. If the snow doesn’t all melt by then, bring your cross-country skis or snowshoes. Because of the high elevation and wonderfully groomed trails, the snow will likely be there until June. Bring a bag lunch and something to drink. Meet in the rear parking lot of Victor Town Hall, 85 East Main Street at 9:00 a.m. You can also meet at the park at 9:45 a.m.
Here is a Spring (multiple entendre intended) opportunity to join Victor Hiking Trails (VHT) for a hike in Fishers Park. Many S/T hikers may recall an Autumn Springwater Trails hike at Fishers Park planned and led for S/T by Douglas. The date was November 16th, 2014 and S/T hikers were greeted at the start of the hike by Dave Wright, Chairman of VHT.
Well, about five months later, on Saturday April 11th, 2015, Dave Wright will again be greeting a group of hikers at the start of a hike in Fishers Park, albeit this time he will be leading the group of hikers on a VHT guided hike. All hikers are free to join in this hike, no membership or fees are required.
Perhaps you will find a different world in the trails of Spring vs Autumn. Traction Devices (TDs) are recommended for this hike and other hikes at this time of year. A possible alternative to TDs may be deep tread sole footwear. Since it may be muddy this early in Spring Season, consider waterproof footwear, and perhaps gaiters.
For more details on the hike you can check the VHT website , or telephone (585)-234-8226 (234 is a Rochester telephone exchange) for details.
Victor Hiking Trails (VHT) will be leading a hike at Robert H Treman Park, near the Ithaca area, on Saturday July 11th, 2015. This hike is part of the monthly guided hike series of VHT. (***** Please note!! – accept apologies for any inconvenience if you saw this hike initially listed as Fri 7/10/2015, there had been a planned campout for Friday with the hike on Saturday, but the campout had to be cancelled. The hike for Saturday is still ON.******)
Carpool will form behind Victor Town Hall, located at 60 East Main Street in Victor,NY (GPS = 42.9821448,-77.4087837 ), with intended leave time of 8:00AM on SATURDAY July 11th, 2015.
This hike locale of Robert H Treman Park is one that would be a bit far for Springwater Trails (S/T) to put on the S/T hiking schedule. So if you wanna enjoy this park in the summertime with a group of hikers similar minded to the S/T hiking group, this hike may be for you. Many waterfalls in Enfield Glen are a highlight of this park
Time guesstimates: Carpool at Victor 8:00AM ; At Robert H Treman Park ~ 10:00AM ; Hike ~3-4 hours ; Back in Victor at Town Hall ~4:30PM.
For further details/updates about this hike, check the VHT website. If you wish to meet the VHT group at Robert H Treman Park (rather than carpooling from Victor), you will need to coordinate a meet locale thru VHT hike leaders.
7/9/2015 update: Thoughts for your hiking comfort in shifting gears from our recent rainy grey skies to Saturdays predicted warmth and high sunshine angles. Checklist: Hat with a visor or brim that will stay on in windy conditions, and not end up in the glen. Sunglasses to cut reflection off the water and from overhead sunrays, again that will stay on. Light highly breathable clothing for sun reflection to prevent sunburn. Sunscreen on uncovered areas including you face.
Did you enjoy the neat hike on the Bristol Trail on July 19? Did you notice the work that’s needed to make it into a real neat trail, friendly not only for hikers, but also for the Twisted Branch mega marathon runners on August 29, many of whom will be entering this part of the trail in the dark?
So, grab your work gloves, loppers, weed eaters, bowsaws, etc. and join us on Tuesday, August 4 or, if it’s raining, the following day. We’re starting at 8 AM, so we can get done before it gets too hot. We’re meeting at the picnic tables outside Bob and Ruth’s in Naples, to plan our workday. You can get a cup of joe, or anything else you’d like, from their fine breakfast menu. Most important, you can use their plumbing facilities, to start out with an empty storage tank. Donna Noteware is meeting us there, to get us access to the middle of the trail, through Longsdorf Rd. This is where those omnipresent multiflora roses are constantly encroaching on the trail
Hope to see you there. Let’s show how nice our organization can make this trail for our hikers and runners.
Looking for brochure.or mailing list so I can receive it in the mail.
Nothing opens up for mailing list.
There’s all kinds of very bizarre ads and post for viagra and other drugs above on calender page.
