Don’t be scared to join us for a hike on October 26th at White Haven Cemetery! https://whitehavenmemorialpark.com This cemetery, located at 210 Marsh Road Pittsford, NY 14534 is actually a Memorial Park with 180 acres of more than just graves and mausoleums. Besides a natural burial section and a pet cemetery, there is an extensive expanse of nature, with ponds, gardens, waterfalls and two miles of trails through a wooded area.

The Park is designated as an Audubon Certified Sanctuary where scout troupes have not only built the trails but owl boxes, bat boxes, and bluebird houses. There’s even a New York State Bluebird Society “nestcam” where folks can watch them live in the spring. To raise your spirits even more, you might find a monarch butterfly in the milkweed garden.

Please arrive at 1:45pm to sign in, get directions and be in the group photo. We start the hike at 2:00pm.

The Naturalists can take their time checking out the gardens, ponds, gazebos, memorials and various areas of the park.

Climbers and Tourists will start off ahead of the Naturalists to cover more ground and to head towards the southeast corner where the trails begin.

— From Rochester: Take 490 East, get off at exit 25 which is Rt 31F(Fairport Rd). Head east on Rt31 and turn right onto Marsh Road. White Haven will be up on the left. Park in the main office parking area right off of Marsh Rd.

— From Springwater: Take 15A North. Turn right on Sibley Rd. Turn left on Rt65(Clover St). Stay on Rt65 going north, go over the Thruway and turn right on Rt 252(West Jefferson Rd). Turn left on Mitchell Rd. Turn right on Rt 31(Palmyra Rd). Turn left on Marsh Rd. White Haven will be up on the right. Park in the main office parking area right off of Marsh Rd.
