All Western Evergreen Nursery & Christmas Tree Farm Hike – October 7, 2012 at 2:00PM

Katherine Humphrey will be hosting our hike this Sunday at her Tree Farm.  Separate hikes are planned for the Climbers, Tourists and Naturalists, followed by a social at Katherine’s home with soup and sandwich fixings.

Gene and RAMA are planning a special Naturalists hike to collect any fungi associated with the Western fir trees that have been planted at the Tree Farm. There’s a good chance that we may find species that we’ve never found before, on the local RAMA forays.

Carol will lead the tourists through the Christmas trees and the pine forests of the farm and will show off views of Springwater Valley.

Char will take the climbers around the farm and down Carney Hollow Road to a neighboring maze.

The bow hunting season has started but no hunting will be taking place on any of the land we will be hiking.  Friendly dogs are welcome on the hike.  You should expect a few other dogs to be hiking with you.

Following the hikes, Katherine will host a social at her house.  Bring a dish to pass or make a small contribution to support the socials.  Bring your own beverage.  By the way,  dogs will want to stay in your car during the social.
